Methodology

How FPL Autopilot turns research into one gameweek plan.

The product is designed around a simple idea: an FPL transfer, captain, lineup or chip decision should not be made in isolation. The recommendation should fit your actual squad and the rest of the gameweek.

1 · Understand

Start with your team

Current squad, budget, free transfers, player availability and the state of the gameweek create the constraints for the decision.

2 · Research

Check the relevant evidence

Fixtures, expected opportunity, recent role, availability signals and plausible alternatives are considered instead of relying on one headline metric.

3 · Join

Build one complete recommendation

Transfers, starting XI, bench, captain, vice captain and chips are reconciled so one decision does not quietly break another.

What the system is trying to avoid

Confident answers to incomplete questions.

“Who is the best transfer?” is incomplete without knowing who leaves, what the budget becomes, which future moves are blocked and whether the new player even starts in your best XI. The same applies to captaincy and chips. FPL Autopilot tries to make the decision at team level, not player-card level.

Squad-specific

The recommendation is built around the connected FPL team rather than a generic template.

Alternatives considered

A recommendation is stronger when reasonable alternatives have been checked, not ignored.

Reasoning stays visible

You should be able to see why a call was made and change it if you disagree.

Uncertainty

FPL is uncertain. The product should not pretend otherwise.

Team news changes, players get benched, penalties are missed and low-probability events decide gameweeks. Recommendations are decisions under uncertainty, not predictions of guaranteed points. That is why past successful suggestions can be useful evidence of the process but are never presented as promises of future results.

Recommendation vs automation

The quality of the call should not depend on how much control you hand over.

The same plan can be used as advice, reviewed for approval, or used with more automation. Control is a separate product choice from the research and recommendation itself.
